Gospel in the house

We RAISED the roof last night at our annual Lighthouse Gospel concert in Mill Valley. It was about 1000 degrees inside the church- no air-conditioning or fans - but we pressed on and it was a blessing to all who attended. Dwight Franklin came from New Orleans to guest direct a few selections - he's Irma Thomas's pianist when she plays at JazzFest in the gospel tent and does a tribute to Mahalia Jackson. What an honor to be led by someone of his caliber, and indeed all the other stellar musicians who are so respected in the gospel community. Dwight said he brought the hot weather to the Bay Area and now that he's returning to New Orleans it should cool down here a little.
