They couldn't be more different - although the Honeydrops reference James Booker and Prof Longhair in 2 of their songs, and Garage

are from NOLA.

Other than that, one is lyrical, bluesy and rockabilly-ish with more than a hint of the south and the other is - well Stanton Moore and Matt Dillon and Skerik and Marco Benevento ... Charlie Hunter on the Emphasizer release from 2003- 'nuff said.You know I saw them at dba during JazzFest - they ripped it til 4am when I couldn't stand up any longer.

Honeydrops are local - altho one of the members is from Poland (!).

They play last Saturday every month at Amnesia in S.F. It's in the mission at Valencia & 19th. Non-stop dancing 10:00pm-1:00am. Listen to the KRUSH July 19th when I host the Honeydrops live on my show at 8pm!

Well just returned from the Crescent City for a spur-of the moment week-end. Fats turned 80! I am closing my eyes.... Hung backstage with some lovely local heavy-weights and heard them play:
